On Collaboration. A research project.
Against the backdrop of current European political developments, the notion of collaboration has arguably gained acute new relevance. On the one hand, for many years techniques of governance and management have been appropriating tools of cooperation for their own neoliberal agenda’s; arguably these processes are currently intensifying, witness for instance the recent discourse on co-creation within various policy domains. On the other hand, social movements and self-organized initiatives are also re-activating practices of collaboration and solidarity around concrete trans-local issues. Both of these trajectories might be seen as simultaneously informing the flows/overflows and fluxes, discourses and orientations that traverse the performing arts.
This project is a collaboration between Noyale Colin and Stefanie Sachsenmaier, inviting others to join in a series of symposia and research events and a publication Collaboration in Performance Practice: Premises, Workings and Failures (Palgrave 2016). Please see past events on the "Archive" section of this website.
Our next event will be a collaborative roundtable at PSi Hamburg 2017.
